This service focuses on using peer mediated intervention to increase the social success of children with social challenges and autism spectrum disorders.
The program involves typically developing peer "mentors" paired-up with kiddo's with social delays for a 6-week, fun-packed social skills training "package." The package includes parent education,
peer training + intervention, and ends with a field trip to promote generalization. We train our peers to become mentors by teaching the basics of "how to be a good friend", and our kiddo's learn
through their buddies critical skills like initiating, responding, compromising, and good sportsmanship.
